• Gary King, PhD. Chair of Board

    Gary King is the Albert J. Weatherhead III University Professor — one of 24 with Harvard University’s most distinguished faculty title — and Director of the Institute for Quantitative Social Science. King develops empirical methods in many areas, focusing on innovations that span the range from statistical theory to practical application. Gary is a member of 8 honorary societies, including the National Academy of Sciences, and has won more than 40 “best of” awards for his work. He is co-founder of Learning Catalytics (acquired by Pearson), Crimson Hexagon, Perusall, and other firms. Gary received a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. See GaryKing.org.

  • Jo Ann Corkran Board Member

    Jo Ann Corkran is the lead Managing Partner of Golden Seeds Fund 2. Prior to Golden Seeds, she spent twenty plus years on Wall Street at Credit Suisse (including as Head of CS Asset Management, Global Head of Cash & Short Duration, and US Head of Investment Grade Fixed Income), Morgan Stanley and First Boston. Jo Ann started her career as a Consulting Actuary in Econometric Modeling. She also sat on the Investment Committee of the Common Endowment Fund of the UUA 2003-2009, and the Socially Responsible Investing Committee UUA 2002-2003. She holds a B.S. in Mathematics from NYU and was a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (Lapsed).

    Jay Levy is a co-founder and partner of Zelkova Ventures. Jay launched his entrepreneurial career while in high school with his first web-services firm, providing web development services to early stage companies. He also helped to launch MPI Professionals, a New York based financial service consultancy which was later acquired by a publicly traded multi-national firm, and Trueview Services, an online monitoring solution targeted to the small business and residential market. Jay has been a recipient of the Crain’s top 5 Entrepreneurs to Watch in New York and has received the 40 under 40 Award from Westchester County.

  • Dean Nelson
    Board Member

    Dean Nelson joined Sageview in 2014 and is based in Greenwich.He currently serves on the board of Crimson Hexagon, 360insights, Womply and CallRail. He is a former director at Reflexis.

    From 2000 through 2013, Mr. Nelson was founder and head of KKR Capstone, an operating team focused on improving performance in KKR’s portfolio companies and providing late stage due diligence support to KKR’s investment teams. In addition to leading KKR Capstone, Dean served as CEO and President of Primedia Inc. and as Head of Worldwide Operations and Technology at First Data Corp. He also served on KKR’s Portfolio Committee. In addition, he has been a member of several boards of directors, including Del Monte Corporation, Dollar General Corporation, Primedia Inc., Sealy Corporation, Toys “R” Us Inc. and Yellow Pages Group.

    Prior to KKR, Dean was a management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group for 15 years, serving as a Partner and head of the firm’s Chicago office.

  • Bill Bell
    Board Member

    Bill Bell serves as a consultant for Cablevision Systems Corporation, advising the company on economic and financial issues relating to Cablevision and its divisions. Previously, he served as Vice Chairman of Cablevision, one of the nation’s leading telecommunications companies until 2004. He assumed this post in 1986, after serving as Cablevision’s president. A 36-year veteran of the company, Bill had also served as Cablevision’s Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. He joined the company in 1978 as Chief Financial Officer.

    Prior to Sageview, Andrew was a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, where he focused on developing business strategies and improving operations for clients in the private equity, financial services, consumer goods, and pharmaceutical industries. Andrew graduated magna cum laude from Yale University with B.A. in Economics.
