UK’s number one property website replaces Radian 6 with Crimson Hexagon’s ForSight™ platform

Rightmove, the UK’s number one property website, has selected Crimson Hexagon’s social media sentiment analysis software, ForSight, to enhance customer and business social media intelligence across its commercial and residential housing markets.

Rightmove is a property advertising website that lists over a million residential properties for sale and rent. It works directly with estate agents, letting agents and new homes developers across the UK. Rightmove also works with the commercial industry advertising over 40,000 properties including offices, retail, leisure, hospitality, industrial and warehousing premises on behalf of commercial agents, chartered surveyors, owners, landlords and property professionals throughout the UK.

Rightmove has a strong commitment to customer feedback and market analysis across all channels, including social media. Sarah Brown, social media manager, Rightmove said: “Social media is a crucial source of sentiment, opinions and trends yet many organisations struggle to process the breadth of social media to produce usable data and insights. This is why we chose Crimson Hexagon and ForSight. ForSight’s unique algorithm is trained from a human perspective to produce data-driven results. It’s a powerful combination that means it’s not simply counting mentions or binary comments, but reflecting genuine sentiment and opinions. It’s now a key part of our customer service and market analysis strategy.

Previously Rightmove was using Radian 6, but while planning the migration to a new system the company’s social media team ran a detailed selection process to compare features and functions of five specific social analytics and sentiment analysis platforms. Sarah Brown said: “Our selection process looked at features, functions and benefits that were most important to us, and would identify a platform to give us in-depth insight into customer conversations, public sentiment and key industry issues, while proving efficient and easy to use. Nothing we’ve experienced comes close to providing us with the intelligence provided by ForSight, which is also a Twitter Certified Product.

As well as analysing newly-created data, ForSight analyses archived social media, including the 400 billion historical posts in the Crimson Hexagon database, helping Rightmove to analyse current and retrospective data and trends to gain a truer, fuller picture of social media conversations.

Curt Bloom, president, Crimson Hexagon said: “The UK property market has been through a lot of turbulence, including changing demands for properties, fluctuating prices and widening regional differences. Any fluctuating market produces diverse industry perspectives and strong buyer opinions, so brands must go beyond simple keyword-counting social media metrics to listen, understand and clarify conversations. I’m proud that we are working with a property brand as strong as Rightmove that understands the importance of using social media sentiment, investing in relevant technologies, engaging with customers and prospects, and building its market lead.”
