In 2012, #GivingTuesday kicked off for the first time in the United States. The day of giving designed to bring people together and show the world why it’s good to give, following the Black Friday sales and Cyber Monday online frenzy.
Now a global movement, #GivingTuesday was launched in the United Kingdom by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) in 2014, encouraging people, charities and businesses to donate, volunteer or just spread the world.
Following our involvement in the 2014 launch, where we joined alongside #GivingTuesday organisers to monitor social media conversations in real time, Crimson Hexagon is proud to once again partner with CAF to provide live social media updates and insights for #GivingTuesday 2015 (1st December).
By capitalising on last year’s insights to maximise strategy for the 2015 campaign, including sentiment analyses and leading influencers, we will be on hand all day to provide regular updates to the CAF team in their bid to make #GivingTuesday 2015 bigger and better than 2014.
Following last year’s success, we produced a report on the key learnings from the 2014 campaign as well as a deep dive analysis into what drives people to take action to donate and get involved with charitable campaigns. In this report, we look back on the success of the UK campaign in 2014 and offer tips for organisations wanting to maximise their partipation in #GivingTuesday 2015, based on our deep analysis of social media data.
