At Crimson Hexagon, we wanted to take a look at the available social intelligence surrounding this topic to know who is tweeting about the “fiscal cliff.” Are liberal or conservative voices dominating the Twitterverse? Who are the most influential news organizations, institutions and celebrities weighing in on the issue? Finally, who are the most prolific tweeters on the topic?
Between December 1 and December 13, 2012, there were more than 500,000 posts on Twitter on the fiscal cliff. The tweet volume peaks on December 3 and 4. The increasing Twitter traffic about the fiscal cliff at this time likely responds to the Fitch Ratings announcement that the fiscal cliff poses significant risk to the United States economy.
