Between December 1 and December 13, 2012, there were more than 500,000 posts on Twitter on the fiscal cliff. The tweet volume peaks on December 3 and 4. The increasing Twitter traffic about the fiscal cliff at this time likely responds to the Fitch Ratings announcement that the fiscal cliff poses significant risk to the United States economy.
