30,000 Tweets Reveal Opportunity for Non iPhone Wireless Carriers & Devices

Of nearly 30,000 tweets containing opinion about the new iPhone, Crimson Hexagon analysis revealed a full 21 percent of these consumers indicated a significant shift in their intended iPhone purchase behavior.  The 21 percent fall into two groups: the 13 percent who say they won’t purchase the iPhone 4 unless the antenna issues are fully resolved, and 8 percent who indicate they plan to switch to another wireless carrier and/or another brand of handset.

In an industry where just a few percentage points of market share can be perceived as wild success or painful failure, such a substantial amount of discontent and paused purchase behavior strikes us as a significant opportunity for non-iPhone wireless carriers and handset makers alike.
